Student Evaluations

I value the end of semester evaluation process, but I do not depend on it.  While necessary for comparing courses and instructors from an administrative perspective, these evaluations do not allow me to "course correct" during a current semester.  Thus, it is my practice to give out at least one, and often two or three anonymous surveys throughout the semester in each course to measure the quality of teaching and learning that is going on.  I find these periodic assessments to be more important for guiding the instruction than the end of term evaluations; however, it is through the official CourseEval UM surveys that students reflect on the course on a whole and provide scores to the University community about the quality of the course.  Those scores and comments are reported here.  I have not included mid-term student evaluations as I do not have explicit permission to share them.
